The fourth Shanxi Taihang Mountain Culture and Tourism Festival opened in Jincheng on Aug 9, highlighting the city's natural scenery and culture while promoting local tourism.
The biennial festival consisted of 100 activities divided between four major events –– a Taihang Mountain cultural event, a Jincheng all-for-one tourism carnival, a Go-themed event, and an investment and trade fair.
"We hope to attract more people to visit Jincheng and invest in the city through the festival," said Wu Hongwen, mayor of Jincheng, at the opening ceremony.
Jincheng has been developing "all-for-one" tourism which describes the integrated development of tourism spanning all levels of industry. Apart from launching various events and attracting investment, the city has been constructing a 500-kilometer main road which runs across Taihang Mountain and connects 23 local tourist attractions so as to drive local "all-for-one" tourism and industrial transformation.
